Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
CellularShack.ca is operated by The World BetterDeals Inc. ("CellularShack," "we," "us," "our"). We are committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your personal information.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, where it is stored, and the control you have over it. It is built on Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Canadian Standards Association's Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information.
Who Is Responsible
We are accountable for all personal information under our control. We have designated a Privacy Officer who is responsible for compliance with this policy and who may be contacted using the details in the Questions and Complaints section below.
Age Requirement
Our website and services are intended for individuals who are the age of majority in their province or territory of residence. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
What We Collect
We collect only what we need. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
-
Contact details — name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address
-
Order information — purchase history, order value, delivery preferences, warranty and return records
-
Payment information — processed securely by our payment providers. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
-
Business account details — for wholesale, distribution, and corporate accounts: company name, company website, business number, tax exemption documents, and trade or credit references
-
Device and service information — if you use our service or on-site repair services: device make, model, IMEI or serial number, and diagnostic information necessary to complete the work you have authorized
-
Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed, collected through cookies and analytics tools
Why We Collect It
-
To process, fulfill, ship, and deliver your orders
-
To provide customer service, warranty support, returns, and repairs
-
To verify, approve, and manage wholesale, distribution, and corporate accounts
-
To detect and prevent fraud, chargebacks, and unauthorized transactions
-
To send promotions, new product announcements, and pricing updates — only where you have consented
-
To meet our tax, accounting, warranty, and other legal obligations
We identify our purposes before or at the time we collect your information. In some cases consent is implied — for example, when you provide your address and payment details in order to complete a purchase.
Devices Left for Service or Repair
If you leave a device with us for service or repair, it may contain your personal data. We treat that data as confidential and access it only where technically necessary to diagnose or complete the work you have authorized. We do not copy, retain, or disclose the contents of your device.
We strongly recommend that you back up your device and remove sensitive data before submitting it for service. The terms governing our repair services, including responsibility for data, are set out in your repair authorization and in our Terms of Service.
Your Consent and Your Choices
-
Providing your personal information is always your choice
-
We send commercial electronic messages only with your express or implied consent, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link.
-
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits
-
You can unsubscribe from marketing messages using the link in any email, or by contacting us directly
-
Declining to provide certain information may limit our ability to supply a product or service
-
We will never require you to consent to uses beyond what is necessary to supply the product or service you requested
Who We Share It With
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to operate our business, including:
-
Our e-commerce platform (Shopify) and our business management and ERP systems
-
Payment processors and fraud prevention services
-
Shipping carriers, couriers, and fulfillment partners
-
Email and marketing platforms
-
Manufacturers and authorized service centres, where required to honour a warranty claim
-
Accounting, IT, and professional advisors
These providers are contractually bound to use your information only for the services they perform for us. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, or in connection with the sale or reorganization of all or part of our business.
Where Your Information Is Stored
Some of our service providers, including our e-commerce platform, business management systems, and payment processors, store and process information on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States and the European Union.
While your information is in a foreign jurisdiction, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of that jurisdiction under its laws. We select providers that offer protections comparable to those required under Canadian law, and we require them by contract to safeguard your information. By providing us with your personal information, you consent to this transfer and processing.
How We Protect It
-
Security safeguards are matched to the sensitivity of the information
-
Payment data is encrypted in transit and handled by PCI DSS compliant processors
-
Access is restricted to staff and providers who require it to perform their role
-
We take all reasonable precautions against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure
-
In the event of a breach of security safeguards that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law, and maintain records of the breach
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Accuracy and Retention
We keep your information as accurate, complete, and current as is necessary for the purposes it was collected for. We retain it only as long as needed to fulfill those purposes, or to satisfy legal, tax, warranty, and accounting requirements — for example, Canadian tax law requires that transaction records be retained for a minimum of six years. Once no longer required, information is securely deleted or anonymized.
Your Right to Access and Correction
Upon written request, we will confirm what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used, and to whom it has been disclosed. You may review it and ask us to correct any inaccuracies.
You may also ask us to delete your personal information. We will do so except where we are required or permitted by law to retain it, or where it is necessary for an ongoing transaction, warranty, or legal claim.
We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request. Where permitted by law, we may extend this period and will notify you if we do. We may require information sufficient to verify your identity before acting on a request.
In limited circumstances permitted by law we may withhold certain information — for example, where it references other individuals, or where legal, security, or proprietary commercial restrictions apply. If we refuse a request, we will explain why.
